A bit about me
Over the last 10 years I've worked across the full stack — starting in PHP, C#, and SQL, and now building primarily in React, Next.js, and TypeScript. I take ownership of architecture and infrastructure as much as the code itself — designing scalable systems, running containerised cloud deployments on AWS, and keeping production environments secure and reliable.
I have delivered for organisations that cannot afford failure: the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, ORE Catapult, Curtins Engineering, and RHA. During Eurovision 2023, the infrastructure I architected on AWS sustained coordinated cyberattacks with zero downtime while neighbouring council sites went offline. I use Cursor and Claude as part of my daily workflow for debugging, refactoring, and accelerating delivery.

Curtins Engineering

Curtins — a 65-year-old engineering consultancy with 13 offices across the UK and Ireland — needed a centralised platform their entire organisation could run on. I led the full architecture and delivery over 16 months, owning everything from component design, responsive layouts, and accessibility through to database schema and deployment. It's now the operational backbone of the entire business.
Liverpool City Region Combined Authority

During Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, coordinated cyberattacks brought down multiple local council websites. Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's platform — built and maintained on the AWS infrastructure I architected — sustained every attack without a single minute of downtime while neighbouring sites went offline. I designed the security hardening, managed the DNS and proxy layers, and ensured the platform was resilient from day one.

I identified a bottleneck between our creative and development teams: every design handoff required manual, time-consuming interpretation. Working closely with the designers, I built a Figma plugin that transfers designs directly into Payload CMS through process templating — cutting project delivery time by 42% while maintaining the same quality standards.

I led the migration from PHP/WordPress to Next.js, React, and Payload CMS, built a Figma plugin that cut delivery time by 42%, and managed a team of 6 engineers for 7 months during a leadership vacancy. I architect and deliver full-stack solutions for enterprise clients — from greenfield systems through to large-scale consumer-facing builds. I use Cursor and Claude daily as part of how I ship code.
